its back to school and its back to preparing lunch boxes. this year i started off really enthusiastic. i went through pinterest and google and did so many, many research. ok, seriously, i dont know why i had to do so many because at the end of the day, it would be the main food (usually sandwiches or the like) then add fruits or veggies and a portion of snack or dessert. that's it really.
but my reality and pinterest dont really match. i can do the main food - i tried a huge range - sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, mac & cheese, puffs (their absolute favourate - tuna, sardines, cheese, you name it), mini pizza, grilled cheese, the occasional goreng-goreng rice or pasta. and the dessert isn't difficult, actually. especially with hubby bringing home biscuits and wafers and other bunch of desserts from work. but i just cant seem to get round the veggies and fruits part. no, they're not going to push them aside and they would probably eat them if i give them the fruits and veggies they like - baby carrots, sliced cucumbers, apples, oranges, grapes. i'm not sure why but that bit just did not materialise.
i'm quite happy with the main food but i really, really am failing the sides. i hope i can up the game in that category.
afternoon school is slightly easier, akmal would ask for 2 pieces of bread spread with nutella or waffles with nutella. asyraf and ariff are happy with simple grilled cheese or cheese in hot dog buns, or hot dogs.
